It may also present as loss of eyebrows or even eyelashes or a patch of hair loss in beard area which may progress to involve whole beard and moustaches.

Alopecia areata is a very common autoimmune condition where the immune system of body starts attacking our own hair follicles.

The treatment includes immunomodulator drugs, Injections in bald patches and oral supplements. Acupuncture is very effective in modulating the immune response of the body. Acupuncture stimulate neurohumoral and endocrine system responses and initiate restoration of sebaceous gland activity, which is important for hair follicle regrowth.
