Herpes and Post Herpetic Pain / Neuralgia

Herpes is characterized by painful rash and stripe of blisters on one side of the body. The excruciating pain and burning are result of nerve involvement and may be associated with abnormal sensation like numbness, tingling, ‘Insect Crawling’ or ‘Dripping Water’ sensation.

Acupuncture is very helpful in treating herpes and neuralgia associated with it. Acupuncture increases blood flow to the neurons and facilitates healing. The pain and abnormal sensations are relieved successfully.

Post Herpetic Neuralgia

Sometimes the pain and abnormal sensation persist after healing of blisters. This condition is called post herpetic neuralgia and may be terribly annoying to the patient as it interferes with patient’s day to day life routine. Acupuncture helps relieve the pain and abnormal sensations by healing the nerve.

Facial Palsy

Involvement of facial nerve may cause paralysis of one side of face. Acupuncture helps in nerve regeneration and recovery of facial palsy.


Rashes and pain in eye. May cause permanent damage to eyes unless treated aggressively. Acupuncture seems to reduce eye complications by relieving pain and promote healing of cornea


Pain in ear, Hearing loss, Loss of taste (Ramsay hunt Syndrome). Acupuncture has been instrumental in relieving the symptoms and restore hearing and taste sensation by promoting healing of neurons.

Bacterial infection

Pus Discharge, Redness and Pain. A course of appropriate antibiotics is usually required to control the infection.
